I found it interesting how many went for the gold of Ophir slant.

I keep a list of candidate definitions. When a word comes up, I choose the
least implausible. But the overwhelming majority are nouns, with some verbs and very few adjectives. My def was the only adjective in the list that vaguely fit. So I took it. I lack the biblical scholarship to have made the *gold of Ophir* connection, until you pointed it out. That was just wild luck.
