Default [Dixonary] Round 3009 time to vote!

Hi all

We have 13 definitions for our word MACQUIGNON, one of which is true.
Please vote for your choice of two before the deadline.

1. A horse-dealer.

2. A doughnut hole.

3. A twinned crystal.

4. A circlet of precious metals.

5. A patented form of snowshoe.

6. A traditional Nova Scotia fish stew.

7. A nesting site for Gentoo penguins.

8. [Can. sl.] A person of Franco-Scottish ancestry.

9. A kind of grass much resembling barley; squirrel grass.

10. An edible mushroom, especially the much cultivated
species *Agaricus
bisporus*.

11. A unique visual aesthetic and rendering style which utilizes
repeating contour patterns.

12. The eco-system found on the machair, a habitat occurring on
the coasts of some Scottish islands.

13. Stirrup block chair: Jack Macquigon was a dwarf and has given
his name to a chair which he carried behind him to enable him to mount.

The deadline is 10pm Monday 26 August my time (NZDT) or:

Los Angeles, USA Mon, 26 Aug 2019, at 3:00 a.m.

Default RE: [Dixonary] Round 3009 time to vote!

I wish dealers would stop forgetting to include the real definition. :-(

Since I have to vote to play the game, I'll go with these, although I don't really believe them:

8. [Can. sl.] A person of Franco-Scottish ancestry.
12. The eco-system found on the machair, a habitat occurring on the coasts of some Scottish islands.

I’ll take 8 for the Canadian slang with the odd mixture of Scottish and French, and the eponymous 13 for luck and to reward its author, though I don’t believe it one bit.

I'll try 8 and 13:

8. [Can. sl.] A person of Franco-Scottish ancestry.

13. Stirrup block chair: Jack Macquigon was a dwarf and has given his name to a chair which he carried behind him to enable him to mount.

I'll go for 3, since I don't know what it means, and the charming 13:
