[Dixonary] OT: Ad Blocker

There's an online puzzle that I like. I forget when this started - maybe
a couple of months ago. Now when I start it up it tells me that it would
load faster if I disabled my ad blocker. To the best of my knowledge, I
don't *have* an ad blocker. I cannot imagine what it is that makes it
think I have an ad blocker. If I did have one, presumably it would be
blocking ads and I wouldn't, therefore, be seeing ads.

I try to keep notes on the computer about things I do, like "installed
new version of XYZ software on such and such a date. This is not 100%
reliable, but having said that, I think I would have noted the
installation of an ad blocker. Of course it is possible that I installed
some update or some new software the installation of which took some
time and which didn't require my undivided attention and so I went off
to do something else. And it would have to have been the kind of
installation that was happy to make choices on my behalf without asking
or possibly giving me a chance to make my own decision but I was off
doing the laundry at that particular moment in time.

This is really just something odd, and a bit irritating. But I would
like to know why it is happening.
