[Dixonary] OT: advice for a new player
Hi Ryan
Welcome! We're always keen for new players. As I'm sure you know, this is a simple game, but there are a few rules to be aware of. DQ is when you know the word or think you know the word (because you can't vote if you do). You should send a private msg to the dealer if you see a word you know. If too many people DQ, they will choose another word. Also, when the definition list comes up, if you realise at that point that you know the word, you'll be DQ and can't vote. Let the dealer know. Rules are available here: http://www.dixonary.net/game-rules-and-advice/rules You are best to stick with the basic rules until you've been playing a while, as the "real rules" may be a little overwhelming for a newbie (and the more obscure points are only very rarely invoked). And feel free to ask about anything - either to players individually or to the whole group. We're all very friendly here & happy to help. Cheers Shani From Ryan McGill: I'm new here; is there a resource for style, conventions, dictionary preference and the like, an FAQ or whatever? I'm seeing some terminology I can't quite wrap my head around (DQ for example). -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Dixonary" group.
