[Dixonary] Rnd 2784 RESULTS: DRAGOMAN
Hm. Something about the timing i chose? It is now the voting deadline,
and only 5 votes have come in. I think i have correctly checked the message board, and see the same. 5 + 4 DQs = 9, so that isn't a record low turnout, exactly. Wow - that was a lot of Dixonary Match-making for Shani and Efrem! {All} *4-and-a-half pairs of votes 9+11!* I think the only reason that Shani Naylor didn't vote for the unstoppable military duo of 9 & 11 is that 9 was hers. Which was rather cunning of her, because it just edged her down into the "real winnah" spot by one. (I kid, she could have voted with the throng with the same result, but no chance at getting the correct one ... so ....) I know we are all focusing on Judy (i've shared my wishes earlier, my own quad bypass 9 years ago went rather well.) so i will just announce that the poor soul who must take up the deal yet again in Efrem, while Shani basks in the middle score, with another DQ in 3rd place: number 4 in your program, number 3 in your heart - Tim Lodge. Well, my deals *always *go oddly. Obviously, i should have redealt even with my late realisation. *I will NOT feel right taking a D1 in these conditions*. I wanna get a real one. Definition #5 is the real stuff. Over to Efrem, with my congrat-*dolences *on your dealing win. 1> any of several large crane flies of the family _Tipulidae_, often mistakenly called mosquito hawks submitted by: Mike Shefler who voted for: 9 + 11 scoring: 0 votes from: 2> a sweet submitted by: Dave Cunningham who voted for: scoring: 0 votes from: 3> self-appointed and conservative language-usage expert submitted by: Judy Madnick who voted for: 9 + 11 scoring: 0 votes from: 4> formerly, in Slavic countries, a tax collector submitted by: Tim Lodge who voted for: DQ scoring: DQ + 1 votes from: Shani Naylor *5>* an interpreter chiefly of Arabic, Turkish, or Persian employed especially in the Near East submitted by: Dictionary.com *(the most concise i found, others included "porter" in the description)* scoring: *absolutely nothing whatsoever*. votes from: *(4 DQ players.)* 6> a person of a keen, irritable temper submitted by: Daniel Widdis who voted for: 9 + 11 scoring: 0 votes from: 7> a performer of qawwali submitted by: Johnny Barrs who voted for: DQ scoring: DQ votes from: 8> an extinct species of hard-shell clam (Cyrtopleura costata) formerly found on North Atlantic coastlines submitted by: Nancy Shepherdson who voted for: scoring: 0 votes from: 9> cavalry officer of the Austro-Hungarian Army between 1867-1918 submitted by: Shani Naylor who voted for: 4 + 11 scoring: 0 + 4 = 4 "Real Winnah" votes from: Judy Madnick, Mike Shefler, Daniel Widdis, Tony Abell 10> a native of the Galapagos Islands who tamed marine iguanas and trained them to assist in fishing submitted by: Tim Bourne who voted for: DQ scoring: DQ votes from: 11> a cavalry sergeant, originally in the Ottoman army submitted by: Efrem Mallach who voted for: DQ scoring: DQ + 5 = 5 + Dealuh. votes from: Judy Madnick, Mike Shefler, Shani Naylor, Daniel Widdis, Tony Abell 12> a street sweeper submitted by: Guerri Stevens who voted for: scoring: 0 votes from: 13> No bluff submitted by: Tony Abell who voted for: 9 + 11 scoring: 0 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Dixonary" group.
