Re: [Dixonary] Round 3223 vote for PROOP
Doesn't seem Scottish to me. Some of the others are too outlandish to be plausible. Eliminating those, which no doubt eliminates the right one, I find myself left with four. I'll try 6 and 10.
Efrem P.S. A friend told me that she found PROOP in urbandictionary.com with a very rude meaning that didn't appear in the list. I haven't checked yet, for fear of encountering the correct meaning along with the one she referred to. But I will. P.P.S. Mike, you need a proofreader. I am not volunteering, though. e > > From: Dixonary <dixonary (AT) googlegroups (DOT) com <mailto:dixonary (AT) googlegroups (DOT) com>> > Reply to: Dixonary <dixonary (AT) googlegroups (DOT) com <mailto:dixonary (AT) googlegroups (DOT) com>> > Date: Wednesday, 12 January 2022 at 18:23 > To: Dixonary <dixonary (AT) googlegroups (DOT) com <mailto:dixonary (AT) googlegroups (DOT) com>> > Subject: [Dixonary] Round 3223 vote for PROOP > > Here are 13 definitions of PROOP, one of which can from a respectable dictionary. > Vote for you two favorites no later than 4 PM EST, Thursday, January 13. > > > 6. to emit a grating or creaking sound. > > 10. to move about awkwardly; to lounge. > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Dixonary" group.
