Default [Dixonary] Round 3135 POSSER voting time!

Folks,

Ten definitions of POSSER follow. One - only one - is correct. The rest are products of your imaginations. They have been edited slightly for format consistency and are in ascending order by character count. That might not always correspond to visual length in your email display font.

Please vote for two by Reply to this message before the deadline that follows the list. If you realize on seeing the definitions that you know what POSSER means, let me know by private email to emallach (AT) verizon (DOT) net <mailto:emallach (AT) verizon (DOT) net>.

1. a tall, cylindrical military cap.

2. a supervisor in a tea plantation.

3. a kind of desk with an integral bookshelf.

4. [Obs. or Prov. Eng.] a bundle, esp. of hay.

5. [Yorks. Dial.] a troublemaker, a curmudgeon.

6. the defensive midliner in the game of fieldball.

7. a baby that regularly regurgitates after feeding.

8. A stick for stirring laundry [sometimes called a dolly]

9. a 17th century raider or bandit in the Scottish borders.

10. a handle for surgical instruments, widely used until the 1950s.

Votes are due just under 37 hours from now, as defined by the top row of the following table. The other rows are conversions by timeanddate.com <http://timeanddate.com/>. They're usually reliable, but use them at your own risk.

and other times in other places.

New players are welcome to vote, as are old friends who didn't submit a definition. The only requirement is that you not know what the word means. Full rules at http://www.dixonary.net/game-rules-and-advice/rules <http://www.dixonary.net/game-rules-and-advice/rules> .

Vote on!

Efrem
