Default [Dixonary] Round 2851: NGAIO - results

This was a quiet round. As expected, Shani and Johnny were DQ, but I thought 2 was acceptable, and
I'm fairly happy with a D2. I've noticed the works of Ngaio Marsh, but had never bothered to look up
the origin of that name, until I came across it in another context.

So the next deal goes to Guerri Stevens with 4 natural points; the real winner is Dave Cunningham
with 3 points, and most other people seem to have 2 points.

1: a spiritual awakening.
Voted for by: Tim Lodge, Dave Cunningham, Tony Abell, Keith Hale
FROM Guerri Stevens who voted 6 and 11, and scores 4 + 0 = 4

2: [Swahili] a small bird.
Voted for by: Judy Madnick, Mike Shefler
FROM Efrem Mallach who voted 10 and 11, and scores 2 + 0 = 2

3: [Maori] a being, a soul.
Voted for by nobody
FROM Tim Lodge who voted 1 and *9*, and scores 0 + 2 = 2*

4: [Swahili] a baby elephant.
Voted for by: Judy Madnick, Tony Abell
FROM Mike Shefler who voted 2 and 10, and scores 2 + 0 = 2

5: a hot, dry northeast wind of Cape Town.
Voted for by nobody
FROM Tony Abell who voted 1 and 4, and scores 0 + 0 = 0

6: a feudal lord of Japan who was a large landowner.
Voted for by: Guerri Stevens
FROM Chris Carson who didn't vote, and scores 1 + 0 = 1

7: a Maori greeting in which noses are pressed together.
Voted for by nobody
FROM Shani Naylor who DQ'ed, and scores 0 + 0 = 0

8: [Viet.]. a river (see _Ngaio Mekong_, a river in Viet Nam)
Voted for by: Keith Hale
FROM Dave Cunningham who voted 1 and *9*, and scores 1 + 2 = 3*

9: a small New Zealand tree with edible fruit and light white timber.
Voted for by: Tim Lodge, Dave Cunningham
FROM OxfordDictionaries.com which can't vote, and scores D2

10: Xhosa name for the honey bird in the click language of the Nguni cluster.
Voted for by: Efrem Mallach, Mike Shefler
FROM Johnny Barrs who DQ'ed, and scores 2 + 0 = 2

11: an African musical instrument made of metal strips along a hollow wooden tub.
Voted for by: Guerri Stevens, Efrem Mallach
FROM Judy Madnick who voted 2 and 4, and scores 2 + 0 = 2

No def
FROM Keith Hale who voted 1 and 8, and scores 0 + 0 = 0

Best wishes,
Tim Bourne.
