[Dixonary] Player list
Good morning from rainy Albany!
Guerri and I have been having a discussion about the contact list that Dodi (RIP) maintained. I would be willing to maintain that list but have some questions: 1. There was apparently also a list of all players that ever played the game. Is that something that we need? If so, Guerri shared such a list to which she added some people, but we're not sure if it's complete. 2. Regarding the contact list, was it submitted only to those who asked to have their email address and/or phone number included? For new players, the reason for the phone number is this: If a player can't get into the game and wonder if something is wrong (other than an issue with their personal service), he or she could call someone. I don't recall the history of this "project," so all input is welcome. And if someone else prefers to maintain the player list, be my guest! Thanks, Guerri!
I was thinking about something similar, but am glad to have you do it. (My contact information hasn't changed since Dodi's last version.) Efrem Efrem G. Re: [Dixonary] Player list
I'm sometimes all-too-free with my public information. At one point i
recall asking for out-of-game biographical and geographical details purely for knowing the players a little better over time. (Of course, don't share the sorts of details that make identity thieves' work simpler!) [Dixonary] Player list
Judy
What a very good idea. I have to admit that the thought that we needed a players contact list had crossed my mind, but I was too lazy to do anything about it! The list only really needs to include current players. A full list of players going back to 1989 might be of interest for historic and nostalgic reasons, but would serve little practical purpose. I think you can assume that players already on Dodi's most recent list have given their permission to add their details. You might have to ask more recent arrivals if they have any objection. The most recent list I can find is dated 10 September 2015, but there may have been later ones. It needs to be distributed by email, rather than as a public message posted here. -- Tim L On Monday, October 30, 2017 at 1:56:45 PM UTC, Judy Madnick wrote: > > Good morning from rainy Albany! > > Guerri and I have been having a discussion about the contact list that > Dodi (RIP) maintained. RE: [Dixonary] Player list
Thanks for your input, Tim. That's the same list I have. So what we need to know is who among the new players would like to be added. And, yes, I would send the list only to those who ask to be included.

Maybe there are a couple of people who are willing to be called if
someone is having a problem getting access to the game. Somehow I lost my Dixonary player list with email addresses and phone numbers. Could someone please send the most recent list to jmadnick at gmail.com?

[Dixonary] Player list
Hi, all,
I'm going to be sending out an update to our player contact list, which (for new members who don't know about this) includes your email address, phone number(s), and the country in which you reside. In the event of an emergency (inability to reach each other via email, issues with googlegroups, concern if you become "among the missing," etc.), we will have alternate ways to contact you. It's not a "rule" for you to participate, just a convenience as needed. So...if you have any updates to your email address, phone number, and/or country of residence OR wish to be added to the list, please let me know via private email. (We don't want this information to be available to the general public!) Let me know if my email address doesn't appear somewhere in this message. Thanks!
