Default [Dixonary] Round 3088 FANA results

Fellow players,

Definition #11 of FANA is correct: in Sufi Islam mysticism, the annihilation of self as a step toward union with God. John Barrs knew the word, thanks to his earlier theological studies (and excellent memory). Mike Shefler and Nancy Shepherdson voted for it.

In the voting, the 7-9 combo proved popular with four votes for that pair. Mike Shefler, author of def. #7, is our next dealer with those four points plus a vote from Nancy Shepherdson and two points for a correct vote, for a total of 7. Alan Mallach, author of #9, had the four combo points for the runner-up spot. Or, as we'd say here in Massachusetts, Sheflah is da dealah and my bruddah is da "winnah."

Full results:

13. A grotesque blunder in language; an apparent congruity, but real incongruity, of ideas, contained in a form of expression. From Widdis, D. who voted 7, 9. Voted for by: None. Score: 0.

For those who prefer tables, here are the results in that form, in descending score order without regard for tie-breaking precedence:

It's all yours, Mike!
