Default [Dixonary] 3077 BOMBINATE results

Hi all!

Here are your results for round 3077 for the word BOMBINATE, which is from
the same root word used to describe a bumblebee and means to buzz or hum,
and which netted me a D5, thanks to you savvy cats, whose voting showed a
clear preference for bumblebee-adjacent definitions.

Da Winnah is Tim Lodge, who received an aberrant 7 for wandering aimlessly.
"Real" winner honors go to Johnny Barrs with an aberrant 5.

Now, for our tabulation:

scoring a natural 1.

5. [Cryptography] To attack a cipher by brute force, usually with a
dictionary of common words and derivatives. — defined by Widdis, who was

6. To dislike, to seek to destroy [altered from abominate, infl. by bomb].
— defined by Keating, who did not appear to vote, scoring a natural 0.

7. To displace from one's native or accustomed environment. — defined by
Madnick, who voted for 8 & 9, scoring a natural 1.

8. To dominate a conversation or to speak very loudly. — defined by
Shefler, who voted for 8 & 16, scoring a natural 3.

9. To express oneself in a hyperbolic or vainglorious manner. — defined by
Mallach, A., who voted for 8 & 14, scoring a natural 2.

10. To gallop. — defined by Mallach, E., who voted for 11 & 16, scoring an
aberrant 3.

11. To make a buzzing noise. — defined by Oxford Online, which cannot vote,
scoring a D5.

voted for 10 & 16, scoring a natural 0.

13. To rebuke or criticize loudly or angrily. — defined by Carson, who
voted for 11 & 16, scoring an aberrant 3.

14. To speak in a puffed up or self important manner. — defined by Barrs,
who voted for 7 & 11, scoring an aberrant 5.

Take it away, Tim!
