Default [Dixonary] Round 2823 word: SKEIF

Fellow addicts,

The word for Round 2823 is:

********* SKEIF *********

where the capitalization means nothing at all.

Please concoct a plausible definition for SKEIF and send it by email to emallach -at- verizon -dot- net. Don't Reply to this message. That will publish your definition to the entire group.

The deadline for definitions is about 46 1/2 hours from now: 8 am on Thursday, August 3, in the eastern U.S. I think that is also, on the same date:

7 am U.S. CDT
5 am U.S. PDT
1 pm in the U.K.
2 pm in continental Europe
10 pm in Melbourne
11:59 pm plus one minute in Wellington

and other times (perhaps on August 2) in other places, should anyone happen to be in one.

For planning purposes, votes will be due about 48 hours later (on Saturday morning in the eastern U.S.).

New players are welcome. Just send me a definition. Full rules are at http://www.dixonary.net/game-rules-and-advice/rules <http://www.dixonary.net/game-rules-and-advice/rules> .

Define away!

Efrem

P.S. A similar-looking word, SKELF, was dealt in Round 1070. This is not the same word or a variant spelling. Their meanings are not related.
