[Dixonary] ZAMARRA definitions

Here are a baker's dozen of definitions for zamarra. Choose two without
using a dictionary before Sunday morning at 7 a.m. EDT on 22 July. Good
luck!

1. a debenture
2. a dry, mountainous chaparral
3. a shepherd's sheepskin coat
4. an Indian police or customs officer
5. a type of fig from north-central Iraq
6. a rocky coastline, usu. unsuitable for landing boats
7. a grassy hill, especially near, or surrounded by, forest
8. a leather water-bag, esp. one made from the whole skin of a goat
9. a type of horse specially bred for use by gauchos on the Pampas of
South America
10. a small colorful fish with poisonous spines, found in shallow waters
in the Indian Ocean
11. any of a half-dozen species in the Asteraceae family, noted for their
edibility and their spiny seed pods
12. the name of the gun outside the Lahore museum on which Kim was playing
at the beginning of the book [Kipling R, "Kim"]
13. (Mus.) a certain stop in an organ, in which the pipes or tubes are
formed like the mouthpiece of a flageolet at the end where the wind enters,
and are open at the other end

I'll go with the rocky coastline and grassy hill:

6. a rocky coastline, usu. unsuitable for landing boats
7. a grassy hill, especially near, or surrounded by, forest

I'll try 2 and 3, please.

I'll be in Austria for the next week or so, and may not have access to my usual emails.

Best wishes,
Tim Bourne.

[Dixonary] ZAMARRA definitions

A lot of these operate on similar themes, but I'm going for a couple of
southern-hemisphere opposites, 9 & 10.

9. a type of horse specially bred for use by gauchos on the Pampas of
South America
10. a small colorful fish with poisonous spines, found in shallow waters
in the Indian Ocean
