Should we check with Dave if his health is up to dealing? Maybe the 'real
winner' could step in?

Re: [Dixonary] Round 2852: GALLIPOT Results

The second place person should probably step in. There were two people
with 3 points, Judy and John. Perhaps one of them could deal.

Judy? John? how about it.

I get the impression that we, as a group, are aging. I am 78, although
when I calculated that just now, I had to look twice. How did it happen.
For Pete's sake, it's nearly 80!

Maybe when there's a tie, we shouldn't look at the scores, we should go
by age letting the older person take the deal as sort of a "last chance".

Re: [Dixonary] Round 2852: GALLIPOT Results

Happy to do it if necessary but I think Judy and Tim come before me as
they are natural 3's

I have thought for a while that the choice of next dealer should somehow
reduce the effect of guessing correctly - when there are 30 playing then
the extra 2 points are a suitable deciding factor but when it is 13
playing the extra 2 points become a little over-heavy (eg here: Judy and
Tim scored 3 natural, Dave scored 2 +2*)

just a thought

Re: [Dixonary] Round 2852: GALLIPOT Results

This is not a good time for me to "deal," as we're going on a cruise in 5 days, so if there's a glitch (e.g., there are too many DQs), I could run into a time problem. More important (to me!) is that I feel very stressed right now between trip preparation and finishing our Chanukah shopping before the cruise and would truly appreciate it if someone else is able to deal.

Thanks in advance,

Judy

Happy to do it if necessary but I think Judy and Tim come before me as they are natural 3's

I have thought for a while that the choice of next dealer should somehow reduce the effect of guessing correctly - when there are 30 playing then the extra 2 points are a suitable deciding factor but when it is 13 playing the extra 2 points become a little over-heavy (eg here: Judy and Tim scored 3 natural, Dave scored 2 +2*)

just a thought

The second place person should probably step in. There were two people with 3 points, Judy and John. Perhaps one of them could deal.

Judy? John? how about it.

I get the impression that we, as a group, are aging. I am 78, although when I calculated that just now, I had to look twice. How did it happen. For Pete's sake, it's nearly 80!

Maybe when there's a tie, we shouldn't look at the scores, we should go by age letting the older person take the deal as sort of a "last chance".

Should we check with Dave if his health is up to dealing? Maybe the 'real winner' could step in?
