[Dixonary] Round 2785, FEERIN, voting time
Folks,
Eleven definitions of FEERIN follow. One is its real meaning. The others are the product of your fellow players' feverish imaginations in their devilish efforts to deceive you. They have been edited for format consistency and are in order by character count. Please vote for two that you like for any reason by public reply to this message before the deadline that follows the list. 1. fairy-like. 2. an invocation. 3. [Obs.] foreign. 4. an early, crudely made musket. 5. a furrow plowed as a guide for subsequent work. 6. a particularly obnoxious monkey of Southeast Asia. 7. expected expenses for a journey or a business scheme. 8. trees blown down, or branches blown off by the wind; brushwood. 9. [Colloq. Southern USA] a warm gust of wind that precedes a thunderstorm. 10. a dark grey mineral constituting one of the primary sources of iron ore, principally as magnetite. 11. fairy gold paid to humans (valueless, for it turns to dust in daylight); hence anything worthless. Votes are due 33 hours from now: Thursday, March 9 at 7 am Jordan time. That’s 9 pm PST, 11 pm CST and 11:59 pm plus one minute EST on Wed., March 8, in the U.S.; also 5 am in the UK, 6 am on the Continent and 6 pm in New Zealand on Thursday the 9th. You may want to check the time conversion that affects you. New players are welcome to vote, even if you didn't submit a definition for this word - as are, of course, veteran players who happened not to. Re: [Dixonary] Round 2785, FEERIN, voting time
Having been raking up fallen twigs and branches all afternoon, I'll go for
that one, and take some fairy gold for the other, 8 and 11, please. 8. trees blown down, or branches blown off by the wind; brushwood. 11. fairy gold paid to humans (valueless, for it turns to dust in daylight); hence anything worthless. -- Tim L -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Dixonary" group. Re: [Dixonary] Round 2785, FEERIN, voting time
I can’t turn down the obnoxious monkey, and the fairy gold is equally unbelievable.
6 and 11 please. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Dixonary" group. Re: [Dixonary] Round 2785, FEERIN, voting time
Well, since i didn't get to vote for 9 & 11 last round (or at all) i'm
going there this time. (I vote a quite rare-from-me LOL to number 6. So it's probably the real one.) -Keith- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Dixonary" group. [Dixonary] Round 2785, FEERIN, NOT results
Folks,
It's a bit past the deadline for voting on FEERIN, but only seven people have voted. Since the time that I chose the deadline, I've gotten more visibility into our schedule for today. We're supposed to return to the hotel at 4 pm Jordan time, with enough free time there to compile the results. So, I'm extending the deadline by 7 hours in the hopes of scaring up a few more. The new deadline s 4 pm today (Thurs., March 9) in Jordan, or, also today: 3 pm in Continental Europe 2 pm in the UK 9 am in US EST 8 am in US CST 6 am in US PST and sometime in New Zealand, but our player from there has voted and I'm too pressed for time right now to look it up or figure it out. New players or returning veterans in other places will have to figure out their own conversions. Our group may run late. The real deadline is the above time or when I get back to my room, whichever is later. So, the rest of you - especially those who sent in definitions - c'mon and vote!
