[Dixonary] Round 3111 - ONYXIS - RESULTS

a:link {color: #0000FF;} a:visited {color: #800080;} body { font-size: 12pt; font-family: Verdana; color: #000000; background-color: FFFFFF; margin-top: 0px; margin-left: 10px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-right: 0px; }

I knew when I received Johnny Barrs' definition, this wouldn't be a good round with the expectation that a lot of people would vote for the similar definitions (4 and 9)...even though an ingrown nail is not the same as a hang nail. So, Johnny, it serves you right: You are the next dealer with 6 points!

Here are the results in table form as a ..jpg and also attached as a .pdf file. Take it away, John!

Oh! a new word will come shortly

When I get a word that I don't know then in my head I chase the vowels
and then the consonants round the alphabet - as many words have done in
history - this time I ended up with unguis which I know and which is
(among other things) a claw or a nail - hence (a) my definitionÂ* and (b)
my vote for the real defininition

What an interesting way to arrive at a definition!
