Perhaps it would be useful to make this thread sticky, to make it easier to click.

Here are a couple I remember:

"Mythical City" or Thom Hartmann

WUGNET
The Windows Users Group Network offers shareware, Windows support, and newsletters.

'Go Graphics' Group, Inc

I'm sure there are others, but I don't remember them offhand.

Perhaps there are some former Compuserve forums that moved to Yahoo or Delphi/Prospero (i.e. non-Compuserve Prospero) and are still active?

The CIS Desktop Publishing Forum (Thom Hartmann’s first CIS forum) has been on the web for more than three years.

The former Mac Software and Mac Hardware forums are now combined into Snarkish, which also includes some refugees from the CIS Entertainment forum.

The old CIS Pets Forum also went on-line on the web.

This is a really great idea, guys! I think most of us must at one time or another over the last couple of years wondered, "What ever happened to....?"

The old CIS forum for translators--sections for various languages, plus one for ESL folks--called FLEFO (which stood for Foreign Language...and I forget the rest of it)--has been reborn as:

http://www.flefo.org/

As here, there are individual forums roughly corresponding to the old sections.

The ghost of Compuserve WOW! still existed on Sept. 30, 2007 but apparently no longer:

Forums on WOW! were accessible by TAPCIS program and WinCIM program. The actual WOW! forum (bulletin board?) access software was probably one of the worst commercial software programs ever inflicted on the public. And that was BEFORE AOL bought CIS.
