Re: [Dixonary] Round 2800: acedia - Definition List

I like the idea that vinegar has a ‘proof’ type rating, and it sounds nothing like the woid so 5 has a chance of being correct.

And 10 should have a name.

5. Strong vinegar, generally in excess of 33%.

10. The state of confusion or disorientation one
experiences when awakened from a deep sleep.

Re: [Dixonary] Round 2800: acedia - Definition List

Keith,

that may give you an antepenultimate feeling (or maybe even a
preantepenultimate feeling)

(I once remember an official notice from our IRS that referred to the
year immediately preceding the year after the year of assessment and I
have been confused ever since - I suppose that was a postpenultimate
reference)

I doubt that procrastination will lead to inspiration. So, I'll go with a couple of the negatives: 1 and 4.

I'll take 1 and 3. (But I'm very afraid of another answer -- 40 types of
buckthorn! I have to hope against hope that that isn't a real thing.)

with syllables?

Keith

if you removed the appropriate number of syllables then
proantepenultimate would probably mean something nonsensical (¿my aunt
is a lady of the night?)

"proante" refers to a poker philosophy requiring the use of an ante, as
opposed to a system where each player gets a free look at their cards?
