Re: [Dixonary] BLIN results

According to Wikipedia, Blintzes are apparently an offshoot (an evolved or variant form) of blini.

So a Blintz is a blin but a blin is not always a blintz.

I'll bite on that cheese. Is it American? Is that why everyone thinks it's

Here (USA) it is blintze and is crepe filled with cheese and blueberries
with sour cream. I would have declared DQ had it been spelled differently.

Lots of other options besides blueberries...but yummy in all cases. :-)

Blintz: "from Yiddish blintse, from Russian blinets 'little pancake'; compare with blini.

Re: [Dixonary] BLIN results

My mother used to eat blintzes rather often when I was a child. There was a
Russian deli in my neighborhood for a couple years about 20 years back. I
had something there once that was like a blintz, but it was in a
ravioli-like pasta/pastry instead of a griddle cake. Good stuff.

But my message about American cheese was referring to Dave's "Trivia of
the Day" blurb about reverse-made cheese, as no one else had taken him up
on the bait just yet.

And between the ravioli blintzes and the reverse cheese, I'm reminded of
this song, which I hope you'll all enjoy as much as I do:

I didn't realize that you were actually asking the question, but the answer is obvious to anyone who is used to reading Arabic or Hebrew.

They need to figure out why it might matter, and then apply that concept.

Dave is deceiving us. It is NOT a trivia question, but a fourth-grade level
joke based on interpreting his question in a more alphabetically literal way
than a mature person would attempt to do.

Um -- I would point out that a great many "trivia questions" are in this
same vein overall, and part of "trivia" is *figuring out precisely what the
real question is*. It is no more a "trick question" than the question *"What
was Leonardo da Vinci's last name*?"

Re: [Dixonary] BLIN results

Throw that much whipped cream and cherry sauce on a rotting log and it will taste pretty good.

Typed while salivating at the photo,
